Space-saving extraction and painting system for a woodworking shop
Scheuch LIGNO installed an extraction system as well as a painting system with drying area for Lidauer.
In the newly built 2,500 m² facility of Lidauer Tischlerei GmbH in Scharnstein, Upper Austria, we installed a spray booth with an integrated drying room. The system is designed for an air volume of 20,000 m³/h. We also implemented a selas+ extraction system for surface finishing which ensures high-quality surfaces and clean workplaces. In addition, we installed a sepas+ negative pressure system including a lignoCompactFilter with a total air volume of 40,000 m³/h. A total of 17 machines were connected to this extraction system, including two CNC machines and a panel saw.
Improved surface quality, lower emissions
The new spray room with integrated drying area significantly improves surface quality. Paint overspray is extracted via a floor-based dry filtration system. The uniform vertical airflow across the entire floor allows full use of the workspace. Workpieces can be processed flexibly from all sides. Air extraction and fresh air supply are handled by a combined supply and exhaust air unit with an air volume of 20,000 m³/h and an integrated rotary heat exchanger. In the drying area, a horizontal crossflow is created via an exhaust wall, ensuring consistent evaporation.
Central main pipe with activation system
In the sepas+ extraction system, all machines are connected to a central main pipe. A specially developed activation system ensures reliable material transport, even at air velocities below 20 m/s. Each machine is connected to the main pipe via a separate pipe and a pneumatic valve. The extracted dust and shavings are separated in a central, weatherproof filter system installed outdoors. The collected material is discharged from the filter bunker via a rotary valve and conveying system into a container designed as an open version with filter fabric.
Operation and visualization via Scheuch touch panel
All electrical and electronic components are housed in a control cabinet. The system is controlled via a Siemens PLC. Operation and visualization are handled via a Scheuch touch panel. The system collects data, controls processes, logs performance, and monitors operation. In case of deviations, alerts are triggered.
