High-quality painting system for training
Energy-optimized painting system with infrared drying at the WIFI Upper Austrian training center
Around 400 people from the fields of carpentry and painting are trained or take their master exams at WIFI Upper Austria in Linz each year. Specifically designed to meet these special requirements, the painting system with infrared drying from Scheuch LIGNO was developed. Despite very limited space, it was perfectly integrated into the existing building without the need for major construction work. The necessary peripherals for the painting operation, such as a hazardous materials cabinet, a gun cleaning device, or a mixing table, were also supplied by Scheuch LIGNO.
Maximum Adaptability
“We had an existing system from Scheuch from 1998 with ceiling and floor extraction. The air volumes we were using were no longer up-to-date,” explains Christian Hintersteiner, Head of the Wood Department at WIFI Upper Austria in Linz. “What was important to us was the ability to configure and adjust the infrared drying for every material and all areas of carpentry and painting. We were very pleased that, in the tender for the project, Scheuch LIGNO as an Upper Austrian company prevailed, and we were able to implement it together.”
Infrared Drying Cabin: Shorter Drying Time & Better Quality
The fully automated painting system can be adjusted via a control panel with a touchscreen according to the requirements. It features an energy-saving mode that automatically detects whether the full air volume is needed and by doing so, optimizes operating costs continuously. The standalone infrared drying cabin enables fast and even drying of the painted surfaces, which further improves the quality.
Numerous Benefits for Trainees
The trainees gain practical experience with the Scheuch LIGNO painting system, working with state-of-the-art technology that optimally prepares them for their future tasks. The fast drying and the particularly quiet extraction system allow for more efficient training under optimal conditions and minimal noise levels. A combined operation of painting and simultaneous infrared drying in the dedicated cabin offers an optimal time sequence with improved paint quality.
selas+ – The Extraction System for Surface Coating
As a solution for maintaining clean production areas during surface coating, Scheuch LIGNO offers the selas+ extraction system, which is based on an advanced modular system. By keeping the production areas free of paint mist, product quality is improved through smooth, dust-free surfaces, material flow is accelerated, and throughput performance is increased.
selas+ includes complete extraction technology for the surface coating areas of spraying, drying, and sanding. The system stands out for its high adaptability to customer needs. Scheuch LIGNO is flexible in the design of the system and develops tailored solutions with customers to achieve optimal productivity.
„Unsere Anforderungen an die neue Anlage waren, dass wir mit ihr Lackieren, Spritzen und Trocknen können. Und das bei relativ kurzen Durchlaufzeiten, da bei Prüfungen innerhalb kurzer Zeit die Ergebnisse bewertet werden.“
